About Us

Wesco Home Furnishings ............our story.

Wesco Home Furnishings was founded in 1923 by John W. Kress Sr. and his wife Laura. We started our business in Tomah, Wisconsin as a mill and farm supply business.

During the Second World War Wesco expanded their running line to sell farm implements, coal and other commodities. Then adding appliances as well as plumbing and heating contracting in the 1950's.

Our business continuously evolved from our very earliest beginnings. By 1960 Wesco had locations in Tomah, La Crosse, Cashton, and Sparta, Wisconsin. Also in 1960 we began to handle furniture and flooring along with making the decision to better serve our customers from one large facility rather than our several smaller locations. Wesco Home Furnishings was consolidated at the current large facility in Sparta, Wisconsin.

Today Wesco is operated by John W. Kress III. We occupy 65,000 square feet of space that includes 30,000 square feet of display space.  We specialize in the sale of furniture, appliances, flooring, and electronics.  Still serving the same great communities were we made our beginnings, Tomah, La Crosse, Cashton, Bangor, West Salem, Black River Falls, and Sparta, WI as well as many more.  We offer professional installation and repair on any items purchased at Wesco.

As we look back over our 85 plus years of commitment to serve the public, one thing is always the same ...

Treat the customer right and they will keep coming back!
